Why Kamelya?
Kamelya Hinson is a communications strategist, nonprofit leader, and legacy builder with over 25 years of experience across public health, nonprofit, political, and sports arenas. A former Senior Health Communication Specialist at the CDC, she led national campaigns and emergency responses for Ebola, Zika, hurricanes, COVID-19, and more—helping shape messages that reached millions, changed behaviors, and saved lives.
She is the founder of the Ancestors Dream Initiative, a nonprofit sustaining Black student organizations at the University of Florida, and an award-winning alumni leader who has served as president of the Atlanta Gator Club and currently sits on the UF Black Alumni National Board. She also partners with retired athletes and coaches to amplify their stories and build enduring brands.
